Biography:
Callie Renee Weed joined the Law Offices of Gary E. Williams, Attorney at Law in May 2006 as a Law Clerk. She has worked with Mr. Williams as the firm grew into the Law Firm for Family Law. After graduating from law school and passing the Bar Exam, she was hired as an Associate Attorney. She focused her studies on Family Law, specifically Adoption Law and issues.
Ms. Weed brings a new dimension to the firm with her knowledge of adoption and presented her award winning essay: “Unscrambling the Uncertainty: Interpreting Egg Donor Agreements as They Relate to Embryo Adoption,” at the 2008 Emerging Issues in Embryo Donation and Adoption Conference. She served as the ABA Law Student Liaison to the Family Section and the Commission on Youth at Risk. Ms. Weed also spent a summer as a Policy Intern for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute in Washington, D.C.
Education and Memberships:
Ms. Weed received her Law Degree from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida where she founded the Family Law Society and was a member of Stetson’s Moot Court Board and Trial Teams. She also served as a Public Service Fellow and a guardian ad litem. Ms. Weed earned the Raphael Steinhardt Award for character, leadership and community service, and the Victor O. Wehle Award for Trial Advocacy. She also earned the Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism Student Professionalism Service Award awarded to one Florida Law student a year.
Ms. Weed earned her B.A. in International Affairs from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and graduated with honors. After witnessing her younger sister’s adoption, Ms. Weed decided to pursue a career in the legal field.
